How can I speak at an FRZ event?

We are only open to very experienced, experienced speakers who would like to share their specific knowledge and are interesting, well-known personalities from the airport region. The topic of the presentation must match one of our 5 main topics and provide in-depth knowledge. If this applies to you, please send an email to events@flughafenregion.ch. Advertising references are expressly not welcome!

What do I have to consider when networking and acquiring?

Our events are places to meet, exchange and build trust — not for acquisition or mass advertising.
This means: No telephone advertising, no unsolicited contact via mass e-mail, mass letter or other channels.
We want to create an environment in which our members can exchange ideas respectfully and on equal footing — without sales pressure or inappropriate advertising.

If you want to introduce yourself or your company, use the official FRZ platforms (website, magazine, newsletter, social media).

More information about how we interact with each other is available in our Code of conduct.

What do I have to consider when I go to a FRZ event?

At FRZ, we maintain an open culture that makes encounters easier and more personal.
At the same time, we ensure mutual respect and appropriate distance—especially at the beginning of a new acquaintance.

A friendly conversation can be cordial, but:

  • We take into account the personal limits of our counterpart — verbally and physically, at events and on our digital communication platforms.
  • We make sure that everyone involved feels comfortable — regardless of habits or culture.

This attitude creates closeness without crossing borders.

More information about how we interact with each other is available in our Code of conduct.

By when do I have to pay my membership fee?

The FRZ office expects members to pay their contribution invoices for the current year immediately upon receipt. Prompt payment contributes to the stability and predictability of our joint activities.

The FRZ office is professionally and entrepreneurially organized. It ensures efficient administration, transparent communication and service-oriented support for members. The timely payment of contributions supports this structure and enables smooth implementation of our goals.

More information about how we interact with each other is available in our Code of conduct.

Does our company have to be based in the airport region to become a member?

For membership in the FRZ airport region, the company must be based in the canton of Zurich. However, the company does not necessarily have to be based in one of the member municipalities.

Under special conditions, companies based outside the canton of Zurich can also become members of the FRZ airport region. The Executive Board decides on new additions at the beginning of each month. If you have any questions about this, it is best to contact us by telephone (+41 44 839 10 10) or by email (office@flughafenregion.ch).

Since membership is based on the company's headquarters, it doesn't matter where the employees or management of the company live.

How does a meet & match work at FRZ?

Meet & Match is a structured networking format that takes place on site on the evening of the event, comparable to a “speed meeting.” This makes it possible to establish new business contacts in a targeted and efficient manner.

Even before the event, participants can use filters to find suitable conversation partners on the FRZ event platform and invite them to short meetings in the system. For a meeting to take place, the invited person must accept the invitation.

The confirmed calls are automatically scheduled by the system. Each conversation lasts 15 minutes and appears in a personal schedule, including time and table number.

The full schedule is visible on the FRZ platform and in the event app before the event, so that participants can optimally prepare for the networking evening.

How many employees from my company can attend the events if we join?
  • Category 1:8 people
  • Category 2:7 people
  • Category 3:6 people
  • Category 4:4 people
  • Category 5:3 people
  • Category 6:2 people
  • Category 7:1 person
  • Category 8:1 person

Please note that these attendance figures only apply to company employees. Depending on the occasion, members' guests pay the corresponding non-member price. If you attend an event with more people from the company than your category allows, the additional people must also each pay the non-member fee.

For what period are my membership fees valid?

These apply for the current calendar year.

Are there special regulations for startups?

In the spirit of promoting innovation and successful site development, the FRZ Zurich Airport Region also warmly welcomes young companies: Companies receive start-up sponsorship memberships with a 50% discount on the category when they develop novel technologies, for example (e.g. in the PropTech, ICT, Pharma, Biotech or FinTech sectors — usually for the first two years). For other young companies or startups that use technologies but do not develop them themselves, the normal price is for 1-9 employees.

Can private individuals also become members?

Yes, this is generally possible in exceptional cases with Category 7. A basic condition is that the person is a resident of a member municipality and fits into our network from a professional position. The FRZ Board of Directors decides on admission individually.

What are the notice periods?

These are set out in the articles of association as of 21/3/2017 and amount to three months before the end of the calendar year, i.e. until September 30 of the respective year.

The cancellation can be made via email.

Are there any formal requirements to become a member?
