The political community of Wangen-Brüttisellen consists of two different parts of the village — rural Wangen and suburban Brüttisellen. Both parts of the village have their own identity and special features that are worth discovering. Brüttisellen is located in the lowlands, Wangen in the Oberland, right in the middle of the canton of Zurich.

Wangen, although not excluded from modern architectural development, still has a largely rural character. More than a dozen families still live from agriculture. The regionally protected village center with the sedate old timbered houses has remained a hidden gem. Since the sunny slopes of Wangen are sought after as a residential area, construction work in this district has not yet been completed.
The person responsible for air traffic control Skyguide Headquartered in Geneva, Dübendorf (or even Kloten) is often attributed to the Zurich area. Officially, however, the location is called Wangen. Brüttisellen
Brüttisellen, originally a small settlement, is now located at the A1/Oberlandautobahn transport hub and has significantly more inhabitants than Wangen. In flatter Brüttisellen, which is therefore more suitable for larger buildings, residential developments were built that shape the face of the former village in a more suburban way.
Since 1980, Wangen-Brüttisellen has grown significantly. It was only from 2010 that this population growth slowed down somewhat. Today, the municipality has around 8,000 inhabitants. Wangen-Brüttisellen is home to the impressive production plant of Coca‑Cola HBC Switzerland.
